What You Need to Know about BroadBand Light Therapy & BBL HERO: Full Body Treatment

WHAT IS IT?

BroadBand Light (BBL) therapy uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to address various skin issues such as acne, rosacea, age spots, sun spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture. It's also effective for small blood vessels, spider veins, broken capillaries, and vascular lesions. Commonly used on the face, neck, hands, and chest, this FDA-cleared technology can almost any area of the body.

The Sciton BBL HERO (High Energy Rapid Output) has enhanced the effectiveness of IPL treatments. It provides faster, more powerful treatments, often reducing the number of sessions needed.

WHY DO I NEED IT?

The advantages of BBL treatments include quick sessions, minimal pain due to cooling technology, short recovery time, and applicability to all body parts. In addition to removing pigmented lesions BBL treatments have been shown to rejuvenate skin at a cellular level and boost collagen production.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT POST-TREATMENT?

Recovery from BBL therapy is typically quick. Post-treatment, skin may appear pink for a few hours. Makeup and skin products can be used as usual, but products with retinol, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid should be avoided for a week. Sun sensitivity increases for two weeks, necessitating diligent sunscreen use and avoiding excessive sun exposure for four weeks. Swelling, especially around the eyes, and bruising are possible, and pigmented lesions may darken before flaking off within one to two weeks.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

The results of BBL therapy can last up to a year with proper sun protection and annual maintenance treatments.

AM I A CANDIDATE?

BBL is safe for light, untanned skin, but those with darker skin tones might experience side effects like burning and pigmentation changes. For those with more melanin, alternatives like chemical peels, certain nonablative laser treatments, dermaplaning, and microneedling might be safer.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

$3000. A full body treatment is defined as arms and shoulders, legs, back of hands, chest, neck, face. You have 1.5 hours allotted for treatment.

WHAT WILL I WEAR DURING TREATMENT?

We recommend bringing and wearing a swim suit during treatment.
